Supporting Local Businesses is Its Own Reward

Be Local Concord enriches our community by inspiring citizens to invest in the community and by contributing to the success of locally owned businesses and nonprofit organizations serving Concord.

Since 2011, Be Local Concord, an initiative of Intown Concord, has been encouraging Individuals to join Be Local Concord to help inspire them to shop and dine locally and invest in our neighbors and our community.

After three years, we have decided to take a step back and let the "eat local/shop local" movement(s) roll out as they will. The Be Local Concord program will be gradually phased out and no new membership cards will be sold as of July 1, 2014. We feel that the last three years have seen an impressive growth in awareness of "being local" as an important contribution to our economy and our community, and we know that our members remain committed to the concept - no official Be Local program needed!

Thank you...

  • Be Local Concord was generously underwritten by the Concord Food Co-op and Celery Stick Café at 24 South Main Street, Concord.
  • This website was developed through a grant from the New England Independent Booksellers Association.
  • We thank these two organizations, our Be Local membership sales people, and the all-volunteer Be Local committee for all their hard work.
  • Most of all, we thank YOU for your support these last few years, and for your continuing commitment to all things local. See you downtown!
